Civica apprentice, Daniel Wright, achieves distinction as QA’s first graduate on the new Infrastructure Technician Level 3 Apprenticeship
Having been an earlier pioneer of the new apprenticeship standards, QA’s first learner to complete the new Infrastructure Technician Level 3 apprenticeship has achieved the highest possible grading – a distinction.
Daniel Wright who works in Civica’s Leeds office, not only completed his final synoptic project within two days (much faster than the five-day allotted time), but was also extremely impressive at interview and subsequently received a distinction – the highest achievable grade.
Ben Pike, Managing Director of QA’s apprenticeship division said: “The success achieved by Daniel reflects the high calibre of apprentices on our programmes and makes everyone at QA who was involved in this journey extremely proud to have had him as a QA Apprentice. Our hearty congratulations go to Daniel and to Civica.”
To help Daniel achieve his full potential, QA provided a comprehensive blended learning programme built around the new standard and a dedicated skills coach who supported Daniel throughout his journey. Combined with the experience gained with a fully committed employer, this ensured Daniel had a high quality apprenticeship experience.
Civica has a strong focus on investing in its people and company culture. As a member of the 5% club, the business is fully committed to growing its intake of graduates and apprentices for the future.
Commenting on his achievement, Daniel said: “I made the decision to take on an IT apprenticeship because it was a great opportunity for progression with the added benefit of being able to learn on the job and gain industry recognised certifications. QA Apprenticeships provided me with unrivalled support throughout the duration of my programme, and I couldn’t be happier with my decision - I encourage anyone over the traditional apprenticeship age of 16-19 to join one of QA’s programmes.”
The three-way partnership between Civica, Daniel and QA demonstrates the potential of these new standards and Daniel’s superb result will certainly set a high bar for others to aspire to.
