QA’s Safeguarding service closes for Christmas on Friday 20th December, reopening on Thursday 2nd January. During this time the Safeguarding mailbox will be unavailable, and the Safeguarding line will only be available at limited times between 12pm-2pm, Monday to Friday. Become a Student or Learner Representative
QA know that the voice of its learners is central to any successful apprenticeship programme.
Our Student and Learner Voice initiatives are dedicated to ensuring your voice is not only heard, but valued and acted upon.
You can share your feedback on your learning experience directly with your current student or learner representative – to find these out contact retentionandcareersteam@qa.com.
Alternatively you can become a representative and play a pivotal role in improvement. The benefits of becoming a representative include:
- Leadership skills: You’ll develop your leadership abilities by representing your peers and voicing their feedback.
- Communication skills: Enhance your communication skills through regular interactions with learners, QA partners, trainers, and administrators.
- Confidence building: Gain confidence in speaking in front of a group and presenting ideas effectively.
- Networking: Build a network with other learners, professionals, and mentors.
- Problem solving: Improve your problem-solving skills by addressing issues and finding solutions collaboratively.
- CV boost: Highlighting your role as a student/learner representative can make your CV stand out.
- Programme improvement: Play a crucial role in continuous improvement of the apprenticeship programme.

The role of the Student and Learner Representative
- Voice the views of your fellow learners and students based on their learning experience.
- Gather feedback on themes related experience and raise these formally in regular meetings (quarterly for Level 3-5 apprenticeships, termly for degree apprenticeships)
- Effectively prepare for meetings and provide constructive feedback.
- Share progress updates and continuous improvement actions with colleagues and fellow learners.
- Be empowered to share your thoughts and play an active role in informing developments.
Expectations and behaviours of the Student and Learner Representative
- Attend and actively participate a maximum of two meetings each term for Level 3-5 apprenticeships, or quarterly for degree apprenticeships.
- Provide constructive feedback and listen to others.
- Maintain professionalism and treat others with respect and courtesy.
- Act with integrity and avoid any form of behaviour that would call your position into question such as cheating, plagiarism, and dishonest behaviour.
- Seek feedback from peers and communicate effectively.
- Work collaboratively with others to strive for continuous improvements.
- To preferably be a Representative for a minimum of six months (Level 3-5 apprenticeships) or two terms (degree apprenticeships).
