Safwan is an experienced trainer and Computer Scientist with a PhD in Data Science, boasting over 4 years of industry experience as a Data Scientist/Engineer/Developer and more than 7 years in higher education as a lecturer focused on technical Data Science and Engineering courses. He has developed numerous MSc-level courses for MSc Data Science and MSc Data Science with IoT programs. As the lead subject matter expert for the Data Engineer Level 5 project, Safwan has played a crucial role in shaping the learners' journey, ensuring alignment with the KSBs of the apprenticeship standard. His leadership has been pivotal to the project’s success, guiding content development across multiple modules and supporting his team with valuable insights.

As a Microsoft Certified Trainer, Safwan holds over 10 certifications from Microsoft and AWS. Since 2011, he has worked extensively with Microsoft and AWS technologies, designing and delivering solutions in Data Science, Data Engineering, and AI for higher education institutions and large organizations. His expertise spans delivering training sessions for various certifications as well as designing and delivering comprehensive Data Science and Engineering programs.

In addition to his technical leadership, Safwan has set a strong example for his team through collaboration, supporting other departments such as Marketing to ensure the accuracy of collateral. His proactive approach to addressing challenges has been critical in keeping projects on track, and his commitment to fostering a motivated and collaborative environment has made a lasting positive impact.
