Cyber skills are in demand

Cyber security is part of our daily lives – from music streaming, to gaming, online banking, even powering homes. We all need a basic knowledge of how to protect ourselves and others from online security threats – and anyone with a passion for tech can step up and learn more about how to defend us all.

There’s never been a better time to explore what a career in cyber security has to offer. Estimates show that there’ll be 100,000 unfilled cyber security roles in the UK by 2022* – as half of businesses still lack the technical know-how to protect against cyber-attacks and critical security breaches. People, businesses and institutions all over the world are relying on cyber security professionals.

Inspired and led by the National Cyber Security Centre (NCSC), a part of GCHQ, at CyberFirst we’re on a mission to make careers in cyber security as accessible as possible.

Trailblazers and Adventurers are the first in a series of CyberFirst events that start the students on an exciting path to introduce how computer science could potentially augment and enhance their future career paths. They’re free, fun and interactive sessions which opens young minds to a world of new possibilities and focus on how to work safely and securely within those opportunities.

Trailblazers and Adventurers are open to Students in Year 8/9 in England and Wales and Year 9/10 in Northern Ireland and S2/S3 in Scotland.
