We are maximizing QA Authored Apple Training
Summer is a busy time in general but in the Apple world it's simply non-stop. It all began in June with Apple's World Wide Developer Conference where we learnt about the new versions of macOS and iOS and ends in late September with the release of the latest versions of macOS and iOS, and of course a whole new range of iPhone.
For me it also means a summer of planning, developing and writing our new macOS and iOS courses ready for an Autumn release.
So what's new?
This year we got two great updates in macOS Mojave and iOS 12, so I was kept busy throughout the wonderful hot sunny summer getting our new courses ready.
Along with our Troubleshooting and Support and our Enterprise Troubleshooting and Support courses, we've designed two new courses for macOS and two more courses to our iOS curriculums.
With all the changes, I thought I'd better write a quick blog to explain what our offerings will now be.
-
Our macOS Mojave Troubleshooting and Support course takes learners through the processes of installing, managing and troubleshooting macOS Mojave. As we see a mixture of Active Directory integrated Macs and Macs not integrated in to Active Directory, the course has been designed to just focus on macOS and general networking. This means is doesn't matter how your Macs are used on your network, the process of troubleshooting and supporting macOS can be treated the same.
-
Our macOS Mojave Enterprise Troubleshooting and Support course covers how Macs integrate into an Active Directory. In addition the course explores support options for those organizations that do not wish to integrate Macs in to Active Directory, but want to take advantage of Active Directory's Single Sign On ability. We then look at deploying Macs in a corporate environment and remotely managing Macs.
-
Our newest courses then take the support process even further, macOS Mojave Advanced Support, guides learners through the processes of providing Mac users with the same experience as PC users on a corporate network. We'll investigate options for providing software updates to Macs, in a way that does not impact networks, ensure users have secure, reliable backups, connecting to cloud based storage providers and ensuring the Macs comply with all the security requirements of any organization. Oh and how to dual boot a Mac with macOS and Windows!
-
Finally for macOS, we can't ignore the fact that macOS is based on Free BSD Unix. We're really excited about our new two day macOS Mojave Support with Command Line course. A course taking learners through managing and configuring Macs with command line tools. We'll explore both local and remote configuration options for configuration.
What other courses do we have available in our QA Authored Apple curriculum?
For iOS 12 we now offer 4 courses dedicated to iOS in a corporate environment.
-
iOS for the Help Desk course gives learners the ability to troubleshoot and fix issues on iPhones and iPad. We'll examine how to change settings that are not preset by Mobile Device Management, check configuration settings and if necessary, safely reset a device and get the user back up and running as soon as possible.
-
Our iPad and iPhone deployment strategies course takes learners through the journey of planning deployments and ensuring infrastructures are ready to support iOS. We'll look at how Apple Business Manager combines both Device Enrolment Program and Volume Purchase Program in to one system and how to enroll with Apple for Apple Business Manager and enroll devices in to DEP and VPP. We'll also look at Wi-Fi requirements for supporting iPhones and iPads.
-
Once a strategy is in place, Deploying an iPad and iPhone in the enterprise takes learners through the stages of enrolling devices in Mobile Device Management using both DEP and Apple Configurator, using Push Notification to apply profiles and how to handle lost or stolen devices.
-
We then come to our iOS security course. A course designed to allow learners to fully understand Apple's security for iOS devices and how to ensure their iPhones and iPads meet the corporate standards. We look at how we ensure data and private information is stored, encrypted and access on a iOS device and how we can be sure that if the device is lost or stolen, the data is destroyed and the device left unusable by anyone other than those in the corporate support team.
As you'll see from our Apple curriculum, our courses have been designed to allow you to become an expert in either iOS support or macOS support. Simply pick and choose the appropriate course for you and your organizations requirements.
