Over an eight-year period, Prolinx has grown from a few specialist staff into a workforce capable of providing a range of services, aligning IT solutions with business strategy to improve flexibility, efficiency and productivity.
“Having a trusted partnership with QA has given us peace of mind that all our training will be delivered to the highest quality.” – Joanna David, Head of Operations Management, Prolinx
What kind of learning support did Prolinx need?
Throughout this period of growth, there was a recognition that to maximise potential, staff needed to be trained consistently in more than just their specialist area. To support this growth and development, Prolinx wanted a learning partner with the ability to adjust to the scale Prolinx required, delivering training when needed to various numbers of staff.
As a small- to medium-sized enterprise (SME), Prolinx also needed to control the costs of staff development, so they turned to QA to deliver a high-quality and cost-effective long-term learning solution.
Their most recent challenge was to ensure that all staff could be benchmarked to create personal development plans, leading to a career pathway within the company. Prolinx knew that investing in training would ensure that their customers received a high standard of service, while also being challenged to develop skillsets in multiple disciplines, creating an engaged and agile workforce.
How QA has helped to fulfil Prolinx's training needs
As QA and Prolinx have already worked together closely for a number of years, QA understood Prolinx’s vision, and how to best support its business growth.
Training was initially delivered at QA’s training centres and as the relationship developed, it proved more cost-effective to also deliver on-site at Prolinx. This allowed key stakeholders to review with learners how the training is being perceived as the course progresses. To date, QA has delivered a variety of training courses in the following areas:
The development of a career path within Prolinx has also been supplemented by QA Apprenticeships, with new apprentices being inducted each year.
“Having the training passport that’s linked to the apprenticeship program simplifies our development goals." – Gary Styles, Director Prolinx
The outcome:
Since training began in 2008, the following outcomes have been achieved:
- Staff development programmes now offer a clear career path for staff.
- Prolinx has gained/retained numerous accreditations to enable them to grow their customer base.
- A tiered structure for apprentice development has been created, with new apprentices being inducted every 6 to 8 months.
Delegate feedback has been consistently positive over the eight-year period, with the following scores being given for overall course satisfaction:
- Project Management – 100% of delegates were very satisfied
- Service Management – 100% somewhat or very satisfied
- Technical IT – 100% somewhat or very satisfied.
