Funded Training

Through QA’s extensive partnerships, we have secured funded training for many of our Scottish public sector clients in recent years. Check out examples of some of the funded training we have secured recently:

Scotland IS

The Public Sector Cyber Upskilling Fund was distributed to 52 organisations from November 2023 to March 2024. Managed by ScotlandIS, the fund trained 201 individuals in certified cyber security courses across 27 Local Authorities and 14 Health boards. 1/3 of which utilised this fund through QA.

Amazon Web Services

This year alone we have supported 22 Scottish public sector customers in securing funding on the AWS program this year. 270 seats were secured across those customers, saving customers a total value of £783,175.

Flexible Workforce Development Fund

Over the last 3 years, QA have supported organisations in Scotland to drive over 500k of funded training through FWDF.

Other vendor specific funding

QA have helped Scottish Public Sector organisations benefit from ESI funding via Microsoft, Cisco Learning Credits, and PSO Credits via VMware. It is estimated that over 100 learners have benefited from funded learning via these routes in recent years.

Recent news

Scottish government spending cuts

Facing budget cuts of £500 million, public sector businesses are experiencing impact across various sectors, including health, social care, transportation, and environmental initiatives. The government has also announced plans to expand its hiring freeze to manage costs.

This introduces a dual challenge:

  • Constraints to recruitment
  • Reduced operational budgets.

It has never been more crucial to retain essential skills.

Investing in the training and development of current employees can help fill skills gaps without hiring new staff.

Upskilling initiatives can enhance capabilities in critical areas such as digital transformation, data management, and cyber security

‘With limited recruitment options, businesses using a retention and development-led approach are ensuring that their workforce remains competent and adaptable. This enables the organisation to respond to changing needs and rise to new challenges, without additional hiring expenses.’

Chris Shekleton, QA's Director for Scotland.

Where are classroom courses hosted in Scotland?

We know the quality of your environment has a huge impact on how you learn. That’s why we’ve taken our 35+ years of training experience and designed our learning centres from scratch to optimise focus and foster collaboration. Our classroom courses are hosted at our Glasgow QA learning centre, partner locations, or delivered direct at your business premises.

How does booking ILT work?

With your booking confirmation you will receive detailed information about the course, directions to the learning centre if in-person or details to login to our platform, and all the necessary pre-reading materials.
