Overview

Learners benefit from a flexible and blended learning journey, helping them to apply business analysis solutions to a range of real-life scenarios – gaining valuable workplace skills faster.

The typical duration of the Business Analyst Level 4 programme is 15 months, plus a 3-month end-point assessment (EPA). View the modules in order below, including Business Analysis Principles, Business Change, Requirements Engineering, Industry Trends and Gap Analysis, Using Business Process Models, Business Data, and User Acceptance Testing.

Upon completion of the EPA, apprentices will also be provided with membership of BCS, The Chartered Institute for IT, to help connect, develop and thrive in the technology industry.

Entry requirements

The entry requirements for this programme are as follows:

  • Level 3 Qualification + at least 12 months of work experience* + robust onboarding plan (learner must work in the organisation for 3 months before signing up)
  • OR business-related degree eg business, finance, economics, maths, etc.
  • OR non-business-related degree + at least 6 months of work experience*
  • OR existing staff member with 2+ years of work experience**

*Work experience relates to any valid work experience

**Existing staff work experience should not be in a business analyst role

Learner journey

The Business Analyst programme integrates live and online workshops with self-paced learning, employing a guided discovery approach for individual learner contexts.

Learners are assigned a Digital Learning Consultant (DLC) for personalised coaching and support. These specialists ensure their successful progress, wellbeing, and readiness for assessments

  • Module 1: Principles of Business Analysis (6 weeks)
  • Module 2: Business Change (8 weeks)
  • Module 3: Requirements Engineering (10 weeks)
  • Module 4: Industry Trends and Gap Analysis (8 weeks)
  • Module 5: Using Business Process Models (5 weeks)
  • Module 6: Business Data (8 weeks)
  • Module 7: User Acceptance Testing (6 weeks)

  • BCS Foundation Certificate in Digital Business Change

Funding

The Business Analyst programme can be funded using the apprenticeship levy, requiring you to only pay up to 5% of the programme.
